Hi Guys and Dolls!
It’s been a LONG time since I’ve blogged! I have a new camera/mini studio lighting thing-y so I’m uber excited to get back into it!! Expect more product reviews and tutorials with some very exciting Makeup Pr0n!
This video wasn’t filmed on my new Camera (I know a lot of you will ask), it was filmed a week ago, and it took me all of this week to edit it- mostly because my schedule has been hectic (getting called in on my day off, rearranging my whole house, buying new furniture to replace things that weren’t working in the new set-up, going to a update training for my job, having a crippling backache from all of the above…ya know, little things like that, hahah!) In a way I’m glad it took a long time because I had to do my first crush justice, and I’m really happy with how the video turned out. It’s a little long (ok, it’s long, 17 minutes!) but it’s very thorough, and I know there’s a handful of you out there that have been missing my longer videos! Also this is a live mask tutorial something I don’t think I’ve done before. I’m still a bit of a Mask novice, so explaining what I’m doing as I’m doing it can be a challenge. I included music because there was a lot of dead-air, and I think with Masks, the learning is mostly visual anyway. The majority of the music used in the video is by Michael Mullen, my uncle. I hope you guys enjoy this as much as I enjoyed putting it together for you!

What I used to create this Tuxedo Mask:
Clinique Dramatically Different Gel-Moisturizer -no sunscreen & a very clean feel, great for under dramatic makeup/phototography if you have oily skin!)
MAC Prep & Prime Skin– a great skin primer, this has caffeine (soothes) , Silica (absorbs oil) and shimmer particles that give your skin a glow (the shimmer is not obvious under makeup.) I love this stuff, IDK why I so rarely talk about it.
Mehron Paradise Makeup Basic Palette, Black & White -water-activated face paint. I really love these palettes, I have 3! Again, IDK why I haven’t made a video about them.
Sugarpill Tako Eyeshadow -A richly pigmented White eyeshadow- my fave. NYX used to be my fave, but they reformulated their White shadow and now it’s pretty wimpy. I used this to “set” the White parts of the mask and make it opaque
NYX Black Eyeshadow– The blackest black eyeshadow I own. LOVE! I bought mine a few years back, so IDK if they’ve reformulated this as well. I used this to set the Black paint.
Dark-Tone Duo Lash Adhesive– Best eyelash glue EVAH! The clear would have worked just as well.
Black Sequins– Not much to say. Got them at a craft store for a dollar. Whamp Whamp.
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer NW 15- I love this stuff! I like the foundation too, but sadly MAC doesn’t make my shade, so I just use the concealer as foundation. I applied a fair amount to get that full-coverage perfected look!
MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Light- A baked mineral powder. I don’t think I’ve ever thanked my friend Lauren enough for turning me on to this powder. It’s got enough coverage to be a sheer foundation, but you can also use it sparingly to set liquid foundation. It doesn’t look cakey, or dry like some powders in fact it gives me a little glow. I love it!
MAC Sculpting Powder in Sculpt- This is a pro item, but you could use any blush or contour shade that works for you.
MAC Prep & Prime Lip– Smooths out the texture of the lips and helps keep lipcolor in place/prevents feathering.
NYX Hot Red Lipliner– blue toned bright red lipliner. I thought it would balance the next product…
MAC Strut Your Stuff Kissable Lipcolor– A very LOUD yellow-toned red. This is pretty loud in person, so I tried to calm it down with a cooler toned lipliner…it was still pretty loud. Using a darker lipliner would have been better. C’est la vie!
