When I first saw this spread in the June 2011 issue of Vogue I gasped and said (out load, in front of people…) “OHMYGOSH I NEED THIS ONLY FACE NOW”! I love the bold red breaking up an unusual but delicate winged liner. I originally filmed a video for this weeks ago, but the footage turned out to be unusable (quite disappointing, because I think it turned out better than the video version). Anyway, here it is, in full detail if you would also like to recreate this makeup. Other than that, I believe I said it all in the video, so please enjoy the photos and a full list of products used to create my version!
Pictures of the original ad campaign :
Here’s a version I did earlier that turned out fantastic, but the video was unusable:
RED: A mixture of Beauty From the Earth’s Isis and Sugarpill’s Asylum
Shadows: MAC”s Creme Royale (inner), All That Glitters (Center), and Malt(outer) Showstopper (lower lashline) No Primer
Liner Physician’s Formula Eye Booster in Black
Lashes: Haute and Naughty (less dramatic side)
and the video version:
Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance
RED: A mixture of Milani’s I Heart You and Sugarpill’s Love +
Lid-Shadows: Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone Palette (Butter-gold and Pink-Tan) and MAC’s Malt(outer) Too Faced Sexpresso (lower lashline)
Liner Physician’s Formula Eye Booster in Black and matte Black eyeshadow
Brows: clear brow gel
Lashes: Haute and Naughty (dramatic side)
Foundation: MUFE HD 110 mixed with MAC Pro Longwear NW20 Concealer
Powder: MUFE HD Powder (why do I ever stop using this? I loves!) and a tiny bit of MAC’s MSFN in Light (I normally go to town with this, but i’m trying a less-is-more approach)
Blush: MAC’s Tenderling
Lips: Poetic License- sorry this is discontinued, and also one of my FAVES! The closest thing in MAC’s perm line would probably be Fashion Whim Cremesheen Glass, or maybe even Bare Again Sheen Supreme Lipstick
I hope you liked this!
