Hi Guys and Dolls! Milani is dropping a bomb on us this month- limited edition goodies that are worth tracking down (or just buying on their website). These were sent to me for review, but I’ve been stalking every CVS in the area trying to find them so I could pick some up to giveaway, but I haven’t found any part of this “collection” anywhere! I know it’s only at Select CVS’ but Damn! I’ve been to 6 CVS stores: zip, nada, zilch. My suggestion is to buy these off the Milani Website. Paying for shipping sucks- I know, but these are pretty darn awesome especially for the price-point!

Here’s product pictures, swatches, and a run down of the goods:

This “Paint Palette” looks quite interesting in the pan- a rainbow of colors splotched around a white center. All the colors are matte and while they are quite bright, the hot pink is the only one I’d really call “Neon”. Swatched dry with no base they are a bit sheer, but ok for the price. However, if you use these with a sticky base (I used NYX “Milk” Jumbo Pencil) they are incredible! I feel that for the price the palette is worth the cost & the minor extra effort of using a base. I do wish you got an even amount of each color (I’d like more of the yellow in particular)

Purple Rush, Hot Pink Frenzy and Instantaneous Blue

Hot Pink Frenzy and Instantaneous Blue

As you can see the pink was opaque with 2 coats, but the blue still was a bit sheer, so I’m not seeing the one-coat claim here. The pink was almost opaque with one but I’m a habitual 2-coater for smoothness. The finishes are a bit different, the blue is a shimmer, and the pink is a cream with a very fine shimmer just barely hinting at itself.

Purple Rush

Sorry my picture is a bit blurry, it does capture the color quite well. Someone at Milani loves purple because they do so many fantastic purple products! This one wasn’t quite opaque in 1 coat but it was closest any of the 3 came. I did a slightly thicker coat on my thumb and it was opaque in one coat 🙂 This one is definitely on my short-list of fave purple polishes.

Also launched with this “collection” are 4 “Haute Flash” full-coverage lip glosses in shades that correspond with their existing “Lip Flash” gloss-pencils. I don’t have any of these on-hand to swatch for you, but as I understand it they are pretty incredible!

If you’d like to read a review/see great swatches head over to my friend Kelly’s blog Vampy Varnish

That’s it guys, these are limited-edition, so if you want them, scoop them up before they’re gone!

WHo? What? How Much?:  Milani Paint Palette $7.99, Milani High-Speed Fast Drying Nail Lacquer$3.99 and Mialni Haute Flash Lip Gloss $6.99

OMG, that purple polish is to DIE for!!! I love how warm and shimmery it is! I’ve found with their one-coat polishes it helps to put a fairly thick bead of polish on your brush, instead of trying to go with the usual thin coats. I still prefer two thin coats, just because they seem to dry better for me, and FASTER. I’m seriously clumsy, and even manage to ding my nails with fast-dry topcoat. I’d be hopeless without it!

That palette is CRAZY! I’m loving the orange and pink and yellow and…wait, what am I saying. I’m loving the whole darn thing! The green is such a warm, lovely color. Are they hard to blend, or have you tried them yet?

Also, the blue polish really reminds me of the blue I’m wearing from the latest Drs Remedy collection. It’s that similar shimmery summer sky blue, almost. I don’t have pics up yet, but I’m planning to blog about it (and the rest of the collection) tomorrow. I’ve got the pics taken, I just haven’t quite gotten them ready to post yet. You know how it goes… into the queue!

My paint pallet looks EXACTLY likes yours, from the pink running into the white, to the tiny blop of yellow and huge part orange. I love it though, for the price and quality I agree – not bad!!

Ask a CVS for a “core” store, they generally have the LARGEST make up sections of all CVS’s and carry much of the speciality and limited editions. Look for displays too. I work at CVS, I haven’t come across it but i just have a standard store
