Sleek Bad Girl Palette Review & Swatches

Hi Guys & Dolls! I’m back with another Sleek Palette swatchfest! I have to tell you right away, I think this palette is fabulous- dark smoldering jewel tones and not one dud in the bunch. If you’ve been lusting after the Urban Decay “Black ” palette but never took the plunge- I think this palette is a worthy substitute and at just ten dollars, a steal! It doesn’t appear to be Limited Edition, but I still say grab one of these asap if you dig jewel tone smoky eyes.

One caveat of this palette is that the colors are so richly pigmented that they stain my skin a little bit. This isn’t a deal breaker or surprise, a lot of highly pigmented shadows stain me, and it fades by the morning :)

In case you’re not familiar with the brand, Sleek is a UK brand that sells high-quality, affordable, creative makeup. Sleek Palettes are pressed mineral shadows, so they tend to have a soft, if flaky texture, with wonderful color payoff. Each palette has 12 shadows, a mirror, an eye shadow applicator that I normally throw out  and of course, it’s all in a “sleek” black palette^_^

My only issue with Sleek eye shadows that I’ve tried in the past that they aren’t particularly long lasting with or without primer. I do find that they last a bit longer with a sticky eyeshadow base (like a NYX Jumbo Pencil, or a creamy concealer) in addition to an eyeshadow primer. I haven’t had any issues with these ones, but I haven’t worn them for very long either.

Sleek’s Description of the Bad Girl Palette
I Divine is a highly pigmented, soft touch eye shadow palette that possesses 12 pearlescent or matte shades. The pearlescent shades possess a large amount of mica and reflect the light giving a shimmering effect to the eye. The colour viewed in the palette is the colour that will be applied to the eye, as the payoff is excellent and the formulation is long lasting. Bad girl contains strong and deep shades which allow one to uncover their hidden fantasies. This palette can be extreme, powerful, confident as well as sensual.
I have a bit of a random, musical mind, so each time I think about this palette I get one my own Bad Girl songs stuck in my head, lately it’s been Donna Summers’ “Bad Girls” or Joan Jett & the Blackhearts’ “Do you Wanna Touch Me“. Luckily for your ears you don’t have to hear me randomly bust into song when these things cross my mind.

The Palette comes with a clear plastic cover that shows the names of the colors, but I do wish it was labeled on the back as well.

Bad Girl Palette Top Row L-R: Innocence, Gullible, Blade, Gun Metal, Underground, Nior

Innocence: Silvery white with a smooth Pearl finish. I’m not a huge fan of this type of color, but this is a great version, it’s super smooth with good color payoff.

Gullible: Pale nude pearl. I really dig this one, most colors I have that are similar to this lean more pink or tan than this. Pearl finish, good color payoff.

Blade: Cool medium silver grey. Pearl finish,  great color payoff.

Gun Metal: Deep cool Grey with a Pearl finish, excellent color payoff.

Underground: Satin finish black, slightly stiff texture; Great color payoff.

Nior: Deep Matte Black, Silky texture, good color payoff.

Bad Girl Palette Bottom row L-R: Intoxicated, Envy, Obnoxious, Abyss, Twilight, Rebel

Intoxicated: Deep jungle green with a smooth pearl finish, great color payoff.

Envy: Blackened green with a texture somewhere in between Pearl and Satin. Great color payoff.

Obnoxious: BLURPLE! This tends to show up on my skin more blue than purple, satin texture with good color payoff.

Abyss: Deep Navy with purple shimmer. Satin/matte texture. This one is a bit crumbly and dry, but not terrible. Good color payoff.

Twilight: Deep Cool purple pearl. Excellently color payoff, smooth texture, just a perfect purple eyeshadow. The name is great too- I’m not a huge “Twilight” fan, but my Mom is a die-hard Twihard.

Rebel: Warm deep purple with a Matte finish.Good color payoff and smooth Texture.

Final thoughts: This Palette is all around FABULOUS! If you twisted my arm and made me pick favorite colors they would be: Twilight, Rebel, Obnoxious, and Gun Metal.

  1. I have this palette myself and LOVE it!!
Gorgeous colors and amazing color pay off.
You showing this has made me realize I need to pull it out and use it more!!
I just wish Sleek was more readily available here in the USA, if they were I’d be inclined to buy from them more often!!

  2. These are gorgeous! Wonderful work as always, Cora.

Any chance you could post an ingredient list for those of us who watch the ingredients of our cosmetics? I would be interested in this if the ingredients are right…

  3. This palette looks awesome! I immediately went to the website but they have that particular palette on back order now. Who know’s how long it will be until they get more in. I am, however, ordering the other palettes until then. :(

  4. Every time I see this palette I think: That looks great, I should get it! The thing that holds me back is the fact is that you can’t really do different looks with it, except for of course different coloured smokey eyes and I prefer using just one palette for a look, the again it’s not that expensive. Decisions, decisions.
