Is Sugarpill “Heart Breaker” the Perfect Eyeshadow Palette?

Hey Guys & Dolls!

As many of you know I’ve was recently sick for an extended period of time. One of the worst things about being sick for me is that I don’t want to touch makeup or wear makeup, and when makeup is your job- well it really puts a damper on things! This b-e-a-utiful palette arrived about a week and a half ago and I’ve been dying to play with it ever since, but I didn’t want to touch it with my germy fingers. Seeing the pretty Sugarpill box on my desk was slow torture!

On Sunday I went to see “Wicked” the musical, and I knew no ordinary makeup would do: This palette was calling to me. The look was great and I want to thank my twitter followers for encouraging me to go all-out for Wicked, I received so many compliments! I think this might be the perfect palette for me; One of my go-to dramatic looks is a deep blurple crease blended out to a pink-violet with a chartreuse or mint-blue lid. I think I have 5-6 tutorials with that type of color combo, because it’s so striking and simply my favorite.

The Heart Breaker palette consists of 4 satin-matte eyeshadows in a high-quality cardboard palette. The palette is in a rectangular shape, it has a mirror on the inside and I like that the lid can be tucked under.  Simple packaging like this makes the palette easy to store and I really appreciate that. The shadows are held in the palette with magnets so they are easy to remove if you’d like to put them in a Z palette or some other storage option.

I am a big-time fan of Sugarpill Makeup: Bright pressed eyeshadows with incredible color pay-off, sparkly loose shadows in unique shades, and awesome eyelashes. I’ve been dying for them to launch new pressed shadows for years and this palette does not disappoint- these are the same quality as we’ve come to love and expect from Sugarpill. I don’t grade my reviews, but if I did this would get an A+.

Back on palette- I love that they now label them! Shout out to Berkeley!

Clockwise from the top left: Acidberry, Velocity, Mochi and 2AM.

These swatches are over Urban Decay Primer Potion. In terms of texture, I would call these satin; each one has the tiniest bits of shimmer in them, though Acid Berry and Mochi have the most. The color pay-off on these is top-notch, I really couldn’t be happier with this palette*! Below I included a camera phone photo of the makeup I wore to go see Wicked. For that I also used Sugapill Poison Plum, although you could just layer 2AM and Velocity and get about the same color.

The Bottom Line- the colors, textures and color payoff make this palette perfect in my eyes!
