Cora Asks You!

Hi Guys & Dolls!

As you may have noticed I’m not that consistent with doing “monthly faves/products of the month” videos.  Because of my blog and YouTube channel I’m constantly trying new products so it’s not for a lack of things to talk about. I love watching them, but I wanted to get your take on products of the month videos. Do you get excited for them?

Do you love, hate or are you indifferent to “Monthly Faves” videos?

Also do you prefer video reviews or written reviews?

  1. I love monthly faves videos, but I also think saying your monthly “hates” is a great idea too. Doing monthly videos just talking about products that you have a general interest in that month is a good idea too.

I like both written and video reviews :)

  2. I like monthly favorites but if you feel like you’ve nothing new to share with us that’s fine! but I do like them :) also I prefer video reviews because I’ll defiantly watch them and I hate reading! :) haha

  3. I’m indifferent, honestly. I like the way you do product reviews whenever, though the hates is an interesting idea.

I like video reviews when you are doing a tutorial and written for product reviews. Reason being a tutorial I’m usually practicing along with, but the product reviews I often want to read while I’m at work or on my phone when a video is impractical. I love watching them when I can, but usually don’t get to.

  4. hi cora i love watching ur videos i preffer video revews and tutorials ive learn alot and i have a question for you please help me i get big bags under my eyes and it looks so bad i dont even get out of the house its embarrasing can u please help me ?

  5. LOVE the video reviews, because I feel like I get a better idea/feel for the product. Not that your personality doesn’t come through in a blog post, but just something about seeing you with the product and hearing your thoughts and seeing your reactions… makes me wanna shop!

  6. I love monthly fav videos. I also enjoy both written and video reviews. It is fun to see you talk about the products on video. After watching it’s great to have a blog post that has pictures of the products and swatches. Please keep them coming!

  7. I love your videos and your recomendations are great so i know of new products i want to try. If you do products you dislike that would be helpful also so i ( and other viewers) will have an idea of what to expect with products that we may be thinking of buying or save us the trouble of needlessly spending money on a not so great product. But to answer your question , i personally look forward to monthly faves videos
    by you.

  8. I really like monthly fave videos because it gives you ideas of different products that you can try. I prefer video reviews because you can see just how much you like the product, though written reviews are good so you can skip to the product you’re most interested in.

  9. i like faves and hates. i think both are good especially from someone like you- bc you know what to look for and can give us a take on products before we go out and decide to buy something…. and i personally LOVE video reviews ^_^

  10. I love monthly favorites! And as far as reviews, I rather watch a video, or if I have to read I like when the article is short and to the point. Too many people go keyboard crazy and make such long reviews! Can’t stand those!

  11. Honestly the review videos (as well as tips videos) are some of my favorites. It gives me an idea of what I’d want to buy for myself or not. The videos are preferable but I do think seeing pictures is nice (although I rather like seeing the pictures IN the video, just so I don’t have to go all over the place just to get a clear view.) I’m very new to cosmetic and fashion so I like to learn more.

  12. I am not a huge fan of monthly favs. Honestly I would rather you put more energy into your super awesome tutorials and product knowledge/reviews.

As a sub of your YouTube and blog I think you have been doing a good amount of vids to blog posts. I use the phone app Pulse (which you should totally download if you dont have it) to read lots of blogs, beauty, music, news, etc.
Due to bandwidth restrictions I rarely watch YouTube on my phone.
I can’t watch YouTube at work but I always have phone on me.
Keep up the great work, Cora!!
You have some of the best tutorials out there

  13. I like monthly love/hate videos as long as the person doing them actually has something new to love/hate. I don’t like ones that are done obligatorily.

  14. Favorites: I’d rather see if you did a video on “currently favorites” :) It’s just that I don’t see any reason to make it every month, and I’m not sure if it’s possible to have so many things in every single month that are actually your favorites and making a new video about it. But I would love to see a video of “I don’t like these products because…”.
Review: I like reading your reviews rather than watching a video. There… simply said :)

  15. I like monthly favs and dislikes. But it needs to be concise. I dislike the ones that go on for 15 minutes but the person doesn’t actually say anything important and just ramble or say I don’t know I just like it. I like to know what it is and why you love it and then move on to the next. I like reading or watching them.

  16. I absolutly love your monthly faves videos! Even though I usually prefer written reviews since it’s alot faster to just read a quick post insted of watching a 15 minute video. I do love the videos as well though and I think you always get straight to the point and cover everything we need to now about a certain product.

  17. i like your youtube ‘products of the month’ videos better than written reviews simply because i like watching you and seeing ho full of life you are :) it gives me reason to live a happier life :D

  18. I don’t really watch the monthly favorites videos b/c I feel like if you do tutorials and other short reviews that we can kind of GET what it is you like the best. If you like it, you’ll talk about it, and you don’t really need to do a favorites video. I prefer review videos b/c not everyone likes the product and that gives you a chance to show exactly what the pros & cons are.

  19. I absolutely look forward to monthly faves! Why WOULDN’T I want to know about things your loving girl! Haha… I watch every video of yours and I trust your reviews and opinions on products! Which is saying a lot cause I sometimes I feel like I can’t trust other beauty youtubers… So if you did do monthly faves I would most def be interested in seeing products you actually love! (& hate)!! I do love reading your reviews like on your blog when I’m in a situation where I can’t watch a video with sound… I love reading tho so….. Ya lol. Anyways there’s what I say! MUAH!

  20. i like monthly favorite (or hates) but i prefer written reviews as it’s easier to look up information i want if i want to lookup your thoughts on particular products in the future without fastforwarding or rewinding videos to look for it.

  21. I must admit…I love the monthly likes/dislikes videos. A lot of times it gives me ideas of things to try, or a warning of something to stay away from! I look forward to those videos, and since you are one of my fave beauty gurus, I would like any new video you posted! I truly love getting noticed that you have posted a new video or post!

Thanks for all you DO post, though. I truly enjoy your input no matter which form it arrives in! (And sorry to end two sentences with a proposition. Normally I wouldn’t allow that but I am really tired tonight and don’t feel like nothing to correct it.)

  22. I prefer a video but I don’t think it should be done it “I MUST make one now!” just more when it comes to you. Simply the ‘Random ramblings’ inbetween and the excitement in someones voice can for me make or break my idea of a product.
