Sea Queen

A voice called me, from deep in the sea, “Dry your eyes my dear fishermen your ass belongs to me” – Cruel Mistress, Flogging Molly

Hello Guppies and Dolphins!

Today I bring you the Sea Queen. I’ve always been a little obsessed with the sea. I grew up listening to a lot of Celtic music (traditional, rock, Scot fusion, Irish punk, etc) and I love sailor songs. One that I drew a lot of inspiration for this look is Flogging Molly’s Cruel Mistress. The song is about him not getting over a girl on dry land and then setting out for the sea to get over her (it doesn’t work). Now the Sea, turbulent, cold and ruthless is his cruel mistress.

I like the idea of a sea queen that is beautifully barnacled and inviting, hiding her ruthless nature. This video was a blast to create, I hope you enjoy it!

This video is part of an EPIC collaboration of 7 of YouTube’s finest makeup artists to bring you a collection of “Queen” themed tutorials. Links to their tutorials can be found in my video below.

*quick note on the earrings- the earwires I received are not the same as shown online- mine are a dull silver color and are uncomfortable in the ear.  If you buy them expect to switch them out. With that said, I’d still probably buy them again, they are SO CUTE!

The whole mermaid and woman of the sea thing has been over played so much. Yet, you’ve still completely managed to blow me away with something new. You’re one of my biggest inspirations, and why I decided to pursue makeup artistry.
