Mixing Textures: Menswear Vintageortacky for Simply Be Lookbook

Hey Guys & Dolls!

This is my favorite look in this series, which is interesting because Mr. Vintageortacky talked me into most of it. I love a semi-menswear look, and this one has feminine touches with the hyper-feminine makeup, and lace, juxtaposed with the cowboy boots, wet-looking jeans and tweed jacket.  I’ve wanted a Joe Browns jacket for a while so that was a no-brainer, and I’m so pleased with how flattering it is. I want to wear it everyday!! I love all the little asymmetric details, and mismatched buttons, random red stitches… I die. The blouse is a great length to be work with leggings and I think this look would particularly suit apple and pear body types These jeans are so interesting, it almost look like leather, and the color is just to die for. Can we make Ox Blood the next pantone color of the year because I want it on everything!  I love this little bow clip- it can be used in the hair too! I’m officially obsessed with Trilby hats and I love any outfit that makes the hat look like part of the gang! The Boots in this look- I’m super impressed. These are so well made, and even with the inch heel are very comfortable. Kudos Simplybe!!!

This look was filmed in the courtyard of my apartment building. I love the lighting here, this was the second look we filmed and I was a little worried that we weren’t going to have the right lighting because the trees in my neighbor’s backyard block out light around 4pm. For once we got lucky and the lighting was completely perfect!

My friend recently introduced me to your youtube channel and I am in loveeeeeeee! You actually helped me to kick myself in the butt to go back to dying my hair nifty colors. I used to do it for years but stopped due to the high matinence (I have dark brown hair). So this time I decided to go purple and turquoise and since I always get Special Effects dye I went to a website I used to order from and they did not have a single purple in stock. Nor did ebay or amazon. So disappointed! Have you heard anything about what may be going on? Supposedly there is a warehouse change in process but I’m terrified of never being able to find it. We’ll see how the subsitute does (Directions for the UK) but I am sad. They still have tons of atomic pink in stock but if I can’t find fishbowl I will cry. Best turquoise dye I’ve found on the market and looks amazing with atomic pink.

I know this was horribly off topic and jazz but I had notice you hadn’t redyed your hair in a while and was wondering if you had been able to find your purple anywhere (wildflower I think you said in a video). Love the look in this post btw 🙂

Oh yes, I have a few bottles of it stocked up, and I actually do refresh the color from time to time, I just haven’t re bleached the roots and I keep the front bit blond now!
