Hey Guys & Dolls!
A few days ago a surprise package arrived from ColourPop! I anxiously tore it open to reveal their gorgeous new collection, Back To Cool. Can we talk for a sec about how well packaged their products come? Pieces of foam wedge everything in, and the the Eye Shadows and Lippie Sticks each came in their own cute box. I love the attention to detail. The collection contains 6 eyeshadows of various textures, Melrose, Baby T and AS IF are all Matte, 90210 is a Satin Luxe, Crimper is a Metallic, and Koosh is a Super Metallic. There are also ^ Lippie Sticks- these great slim lipstick in a twist up tube. The Colors are Choker a nude, Mosh Pit a soft brown, BaeWatch a plum, Out of Synch a hot pink,Too Sexy a warm purple, and TGIF the hot red that I’m wearing today.
This was my first time trying the Matte texture and I am super impressed with the color intensity and how well they blend. I bought about 16 or so of the shiny & sparkly type last year and I literally have no idea what I’ve barely used them. I suck? I think I just bought a bunch of random colors that ended up not suiting me, but the few I love I REALLY love like Bae and Krinkle. These mattes have me hot under the collar though- I’ve started to make a shopping list for myself- if you have any favorites please let me know, I love your suggestions!
If you’ve never tried ColourPop or heard of it, you might be living under a rock- but that’s ok -ROCK ON- Hahah bad puns aside, the brand has exploded in the last year and with good reason- quality, cruelty free products with great names, at super cheap prices. Like five bucks an eyesahdow. Five dollars yo! Add in the weird, spongy, wet-not-wet mousse-gel texture and you’ve got people going “OMG I DON’T KNOW WHAT IT IS BUT I LIKE IT!” Or maybe that’s just me.
Since these are so different from traditional eyeshadows I wanted to really give them a test, and I lucked out because weather here has been HOT! As in- we have a fan shortage- it was on the news dude. Yes yes it’s been a real sweat party over here,
TMI but it was a great condition for test these in- they can withstand the yuck, so I’m pretty darn impressed!
This look is eye catching an glamorous thanks to
wonder of the earth Melrose Super Shock Eyeshadow. Ever have an eyeshadow so pretty you coo and make unintelligible noises? That’s how I feel about Melrose. This color of brick orange makes my eyes pop, and when your eyes pop- you can go simplistic with the layout which is what I’ve done today. I used the same colors in the crease and lower lashline to create harmony, a bright shiny pop on the lid. Koosh is gorgeous; The best taupey silver ever to grace my eyelids. Simple, but glam looks are my bread and butter on hot days, and the colors here are perfect for summer to fall. Let me know what you think!
