CORRECTING A BLUSHTASTROPHY! | Fixing Makeup Mistakes

We’ve all been there: you’ve followed a tutorial, your eye makeup is on point, foundation is #flawless, so now it’s time for cheeks. You dip your brush into a new shade, swipe it on an: POOF! You look like you were punched in the face. Wayyy too much blush bro! Today I’m sharing with you my favorite way to calm down over zealous blush, overly-warm with a lavender tinted powder. My favorite is from a cruelty free and Indie Makeup brand, Lunatick Cosmetics, but if you know of a similar silky, matte sheer lavender powder I’d love to hear about it. Additionally- I’d love to do more of these quickie tips- so what are other common makeup boo-boos you need help with?

  1. Related… I have a mini sample of the [in]famous Nars Orgasm blush, and while I really like the actual shade [which looks a lot like my natural flush when I’m embarrassed], the golden shimmer in it clashes mightily with my super-pale, neutral-toned skin [I’m paler than you]. When I wore it yesterday I remembered this video and tried to add a tiny bit of a cool pink blush to counteract it, but the gold was just too strong and I didn’t have time to mess with it more [took my niece to see Beauty & the Beast!]. Is there a way to correct for shimmer like that? And do you happen to know of a CF dupe that has less shimmer — though preferably none — are matte blushes even a thing anymore?
