SliverBleu Makeup Tutorial

Instagram sb 2 Hi Guys & Dolls! So I’m calling this look Silver Bleu even though the colors are really Purple & Silver. The Purples I used are blue-based, so we’ll call them Blurple. Whatever. Sliver Bleu just sounds pretty, and it got stick in my head when I was filming this, so we’re going with it. Does anyone remember when tutorials had cool artsy names instead of “Smoky Blue Look”. I digress… I used a lot of MAC eyeshadows I’ve had for ages, and let me tell you why I love using MAC eyeshadows:

  • MAC was the brand that made me fall in love with makeup in the first place. I literally owe my makeup passion to MAC; I worked for the brand, and I just love them.
  • I have a lot of experience with them, since I’ve had them so long, and I worked at MAC so I used their eyeshadows all day erry’day on thousands of different faces. I know what to expect from them, and can easily come up with perfect pairings. Even if other brands have come up with better formulas, I know these guys like old friends.
  • MAC is accessible internationally; awesome for all my subscribers, not just some. I always feel guilty when I sue things I know everyone can’t get (A reason I refrain from using Limited Edition/ discontinued stuff if I can).
  • If you can’t afford, or don’t want to use MAC, there are TONS of MAC dupe lists out there. Seriously, I’m pretty sure they are the most duped, most copied makeup brand.

Now here’s where we need to talk about that last one. I go and say “MAC IS SO DUPEABLE!” and then I go and use Vex eyeshadow. Vex. Oh Vex. Vex is a special snowflake. I’ve never encounted a good dupe for Vex. Here’s the thing- Vex is like the inside of an Abalone shell: Pale grey with a green undertone and a pink frost. Oh. My. Bob. It’s gorgeous, but the effect is really subtle, and over the bright-silver base I used, it’s even more tame than normal. Can you see what I’ve described in these photos? Maybe, maybe not. Meh, just use silver or something, it’ll be ok. It is also worth noting that there is a color in the Wet ‘n’ Wild Comfort Zone Palette that is a Tauple-Silver that some people say is a dupe. It’s not, but it would also be pretty here.

Gwen Stefani “NEW” Video Makeup Tutorial

perfect instagram

Hi Guys & Dolls!

15 years ago, my favorite band returned from a long hiatus, with a song on the soundtrack for the movie “Go!”. The video features the band mates playing various characters at a rave, and Gwen’s Anime meets Rave Girl makeup stuck a chord in me. I wish there had been makeup tutorials in my younger days! But now I’m the one making the makeup tutorials, and as Saturn returns to my natal saturn (an astrology thing, basically I’m about the same age Gwen was when she wrote this song and the Return of Saturn album) I thought it would be the perfect time to recreate this look. No Doubt and it’s iconic leading lady Gwen Stefani are one of my all time favorites, and their album, Return of Saturn was the soundtrack to my high school days. Wigs & Wigcaps: HOW TO!

Hi Guys & Dolls!
It seems easy enough- throw your hair back and put a wig on, right? Well not if you want it to stay in place all day & night! When I first started wearing wigs I thought it was enough to just get my hair out of the way, but after a few wig “oopsies” I realized it was time to get serious and get some wig caps. When your hair is short, or slippery, or you want to wear a short-haired wig it can be a bit tricky to keep every strand in place! In this video I divulge all my tips & tricks for getting it right and getting it tight-just not so tight it gives you a headache!

LIVE FREE & DYE-HARD! Step by Step Hair Dying Tutorial- Pink, Purple & Black!

Today I’m sharing with you a step by step hair dying tutorial-vlog. Some of this information may seem redundant to some of you fellow dye-hards, but I wanted to included tips & tricks that I’ve learned from coloring my own hair for 16 years.

The number one question I get about my hair is: “Do you have to bleach it?” and the answer is yes.Your hair it needs to have a very light base color in order for the colors to look super vibrant, and the hair cuticle must be damaged for the color to last for any length of time. Some “unnatural” color will stick to virgin hair, but it depends on your own hair’s porosity. My hair is naturally very slick and smooth so bleaching is necessary to open the cuticle, plus a lighter base means more vibrant color. Read More “LIVE FREE & DYE-HARD!
