Torrid Sailor Moon Collection is Everything I Dreamed it Would Be!

MOON PRISM POWER MAKE UP! When I heard that Torrid was doing a Sailor Moon collection, I’m pretty sure I blacked out. I’ve been waiting more than 20 years for this, and now it was really happening. I was 11 when my friend Rachel tried getting me interested in Anime, and Sailor Moon was my gateway drug. It came on at 8:30am, so I’d record the episodes on VHS and then watch them twice when I got home from school. I collected every sticker, action figure- anything I could get my hands on. I had one sailor moon tee which I quickly outgrew when puberty kicked in, though I still wore it all cracked and faded for years. I have a few T-Shirts that Torrid ahd done over the years, and now Torrid has launched it’s Sailor Moon collection and it’s even better than I imagined.

Tank, Leggings Jacket & Shoes unavailable.

The Tank Top fits AMAZING! I have mine in a 2 and it fits lovely! Had to rock these leggings with lace-up flats. I just need some white lace socks! These fit amazing in my normal size 3 bottoms. I love the navy color with the pale pink tank.

🎵Fighting Evil By Moonlight 🎵

The details of the mesh are utter perfection. Bows, Hearts, Ribbons and moons! I’ve always loved how feminine the Sailor Moon universe was. She didn’t have to be a anything other than a girl to take down the Negaforce! The Tank is a bit sheer which I think looks great with my pink bra!

this Kimono is still available in several sizes as is this Sailor Scout Skater Dress!

This collection is selling out FAST so if you want it, you gotta ‘book it’.

Witchy Maxi Dresses & Spooky Pinup Style | Plus Size Fashion

If you love spooky fashion raise your hand! Both hands if you love wearing it year round. So now that we have our hands in the ay-yer and wave ’em like we just don’t kay-eerrr! Let me hear you say Oh Yay errr! Is it unexpected to reference Outkast in a spooky gothic lookbook post? good. We do weird around here, which is why today’s plus size fashion lookbook explores my love for spooky fashion with styles ranging from Boho Goth to Pinup. Many of my instagram and youtube friends have let me know that they love my darker vibe lately, to which I must say dude me too! I held my self back from dressing like this for years due to a lack of great options and a feeling that I had to be more mainstream to be successful. But it’s the things that make us unique that make us interesting, and now that i have the option I feel I am coming into my own as a fashion lover and as a person. I really enjoy a witchy/boho goth vibe as well as cute spooky pinup vintage style, and I have some pieces from some of my favorite indie designers, Pinup Girl Clothing and Atomic Starlet.

I don’t know about you but one of my style icons is Stevie Nicks. When I found this City Chic Fleetwood Maxi Dress I lost mah shit! Once I composed myself, I then bought it immediately. It’s so flattering and beautiful I can’t even believe it’s real. Wore this baby to StyleCON OC and I was cool, comfortable and fabulous.

For the longest time I’ve been searching for a simple, flattering Maxi Slip Dress. The perfect foundation piece for layering. I love maxi dresses and finding plus size maxi dresses with full fluttery skirts can be a bit of a challenge so I really hope this one I found from City Chic are helpful if  you too are looking for that!

My Love for the Pinup Girl CLothing Riply top continues! After years of searching for a button up that is figure flattering and doesn’t gap at the bust I’m in love. This also has a longer front piece that you can tie off in the front but I’m wearing it tucked in to hide that. The Skirt I’m wearing is a truly DIVINE piece from fellow YouTuber AVintageVanity‘s Atomic Starlet clothing line. I honestly can’t say what is my favorite feature: The pockets, the print, the leatherette panels, or the eyelet lace. It’s a gothic western fantasy.

Speaking of Pinup Girl Clothing- I’m super obsessed with their peasant tops! I have a few, but my favorite is the monster print! I paired that with one of their pencil skirts, and this outfit is just so completely adorable!

Pumpkin Spiced Outfit of the Day!

Hey Babes!

This outfit is so much fun- I love the toasted pumpkin color of this shirt, and adore this denim skirt- it has pockets! Holiday Lookbook- ModCloth, Target, Forver 21, Eloquii, & City Chic

Hey Guys & Dolls!

There are three significant things I want to mention about today’s fashion vlog- The first is the theme: HOLIDAY!  For me this time of year is all about cozy fabric, keeping warm, plaid/tartan, and injecting my outfits with a touch of whimsy and kitsch. There’s places to go, family to visit, and parties to attend and it’s all more fun when you’re wearing something fabulous. But looking fabulous doesn’t have to mean sausaged into shapewear- the biggest thing for me this time of year is comfort. No one wants to run around all day in a girdle. So today’s lookbook is coming to you sans shapewear. I wanted to show how I actually wear these clothes. Let’s get real, it’s not that I’m swearing off shapewear altogether but I don’t think it’s necessary all the time. And finally-with all these different events to attend, renting a few items from Gwynnie Bee is a great way to stretch your party wardrobe. Plus when you’re done wearing an item you just ship it back without having to wash it- so that’s one less errand to do. Score! Watch the video below to see the clothes in action.

When I wore this outfit this weekend to the Dickens Christmas Faire in San Francisco, this skirt was a hit. I had quite a few people in full Victorian era costume drop character to tell me they liked my skirt- I take that as a high compliment. I wore this with a different jacket (the caplet I shared last week). This whole outfit is so good, I’m going wash it and wear it again as soon as possible.

Faux Fur Sweater
Eloquii Plaid Skirt- coming soon
Bow top- Forever 21+
Obi Belt
Obi Belt Extended Size
Taupe Booties

I love shirt dresses but they rarely love me back. They either don’t flatter, are too short, or gap like the grand canyon in the chest. This one is flattering, I love the length, but it does have minimal gaping. I wore it to do errands, and working on my blog; I’m wearing it right now ^_^. This dress ships from Gwynnie Bee with simple skinny belt but I swapped it out for this cute glitter one from Eloquii.

City Chic Blue Shirt Dress
Eloquii Belt
Taupe Target Booties

Ok, let’s get real, this is pretty much my fall/winter uniform: Thick leggings, boots, and a wrap around sweater. It’s cute, comfortable, and versatile. I like to wear mine belted with an obi belt or some other statement belt. Can you tell I like belts? They pull in at the waist and flatter my shape.

BB Dakota Sweater-coming soon
Black Leggings
Legroom Boots

Ok  I’m going to get a little mushy and sentimental here- Growing up my Mom had a “Christmas” flannel dress she wore every holiday. When I saw this on the ModCloth site I knew I was going to make this my “Holiday Dress”. The fabric is a nice lightweight flannel, and it has pockets. I’m so happy about this one!

Tartan Dress Emily & Fin
Black Leggings
Eloquii Belt-Sold out
Legroom Boots

The holidays aren’t all about kitsch and cute- sometimes you gotta bust out your Shewolf. Yes I’m talking going full Shakira. City Chic is becoming my go-to for sexy dresses. I’ve bought a few of the ones I’ve borrowed from GB, because I fall so in love with them I just can’t send them back. They’re sexy but not trashy, and that’s super important to me. I love feeling and looking good, but not over exposed for my comfort level. Let me know if you wanna see a post on what I’ve kept- I think that might be fun.

Sexy Black Dress- City Chic-coming soon

When you want Holiday Kitsch, look no further than ModCloth. The print on this dress is so adorable that I can almost look past how large this dress runs. Almost. But it’s about a full size too big, and with a cut like this, and being that it’s lined, even a belt can’t hide the bulk. I’m going to take it to a tailor along with the cranberry coat I also bought from the ModCloth label. I need a new one- any recommendations for a great tailor in the Bay Area?

I’ll be doing a swatchfest of the 4 JS Velour Lipsticks I have an a tutorial of this look soon ^_^

Hi Guys & Dolls!

A few days ago, While doing a little shopping in the Montclair neighborhood in Oakland I asked Mikey to whip out the iphone and snap a few shots of my outfit.  Considering these are cellphone pics I’m impressed with how good they turned out! I love sharing these types of everyday outfits- it’s like a little vignette of my life; Less posed and prim, more casual and honest. Don’t get me wrong, I love to get dolled up on the weekends, or on a random Tuesday if the mood strikes, but I rarely remember to take pics, much less find good lighting! I have some special things to share soon enough (I got a new pair of heels I’m dying to show off) but I’m curuous if you also like these simple everyday looks.

Shout-out to Pantone’s color of the year Marsala! I love this choice, not just for the color itself but also for the colors that compliment it and how well it will transition from spring/summer and then  to fall. Last year’s choice, Radiant Orchid is beautiful, but more tricky to harmonize- it was best as a pop of color. This one (at least to me) seems easier to integrate as a neutral, with neutrals, and is more open to interpretation. I know my sweater is a deeper color than the true Panetone “Marsala” but you still get the vibe of the color and that’s the point. The color play in this outfit makes me so happy! The warm red cardigan and the rust boots are playing nice with the deep grey taupe of my blouse and pale taupe bag. Nothing matches, but when colors are harmonious they don’t have to!
