Guys & Dolls!
I’m so excited to share this quick technique for Heatless Waves! I want to share more hair tutorials with you, if you have requests or ideas please let me know what you’d like to see next!
a few extra tips/ what you’ll need!
First off you’ll need a head band. I prefer decorative ones because then the hair being rolled up is a hairstyle I’m happy to pal around town in, or even wear as an undo! If you want to have a more secure wrap with larger waves use a thicker headband, like the one. It has a rubberized inside so it stays in place and the larger braided size makes sure it doesn’t get too curly! Likewise if you’d like tighter curls, use smaller sections of hair and wrap is tighter around a thinner band.
When I don’t have hours to wait before my hair sets, after I wrap it, I give my hair a spritz with a setting or grooming spray, then a 90 second blast with the hair dryer. Let it cool for about 15-20 minutes and you’ll have gorgeous waves. These are typically bit looser and less curled, and I know this isn’t technically “heatless” this way, but the indirect heat from your dryer is way less damaging than a curling iron or flat iron.
If you have more time (like overnight) wrap the hair when it’s slightly damp; When hair sets from wet to dry is creates style memory and your curls will be tighter and last longer! Sometimes with this method I’ll find myself with a little frizz, so I take a water-soluble and shine enhancing pomade like Layrite SuperShine. Just a teeny bit rubbed on the palms and smoothed over the hair makes it glossy and beautiful!
It’s Britney Bitch!
I’ve started a new ICON series where I’ll be recreating specific iconic makeup looks from the past. I want to get you guys involved in the series, so I’m asking you to submit requests! There are a few I have stored up that I want to do, but the main goal is to recreate the specific looks you want to see. We’re kicking off this series with a Britney Spears Allure cover from April 2005. The look is sultry, glam, and just a little grungy ^_^. Britney’s gorgeous brown eyes really pop with this look, so I’ve darkened my blue eyes in a few photos to really illustrate how great this makeup is for my brown eyed girls. Leave me some love in the comments and let me know what looks you want to see for this MAKEUP ICON SERIES on IG, FB @vintageortacky or email them to me firstname.lastname@example.org

SmashBox Insta-Matte Lipstick Transformer promises to instantly transform your cream lipsticks into a plush, balmy matte. The question is, does it work…and can we dupe the effect with another product? Watch my video to find out.
While the effect can be duped by using a clear dimethicone-based primer, I still prefer Insta-Matte because it’s a bit thicker, and the texture is better, plus I know it’s lipsafe. With that being said, you can certainly grab a primer of the right texture and try it out! I also want to mention I did some additional experimenting with this. I tried it as a lipstick primer and it was a bust- the lipstick sort of slide over it but didn’t go on. I then tried it over some already-matte lipsticks I have that have hard, dry textures (read: Melt Cosmetics). The smoothing balmy feel of this made the lipstick look more velvety, and my lips much more comfortable. I’m really happy I picked this up, thank you for suggesting this!
Hello Guys & Dolls! I was so excited to sit down and have some makeup playtime with the new Manny MUA X Makeup Geek Palette! I love how there are intense colors, but also warm neutrals that will flatter anyone- even those of us with very pale skin! I filmed this makeup tutorial a little bit different, let me know what you think in the comments and if you love this Palette’s Sailor Moon theme you might enjoy my Sailor Moon Series Tutorials.

Hey Guys & Dolls!
Here’s a classic makeup look for ya- thick winged liner and a killer red lip! Here’s I’ve added some pretty shadows from the Urban Decay Naked Smoky palette and I’ve included a shot of the look with a glossy pink lip as an alternative to the bold red. Let me know what you think of this look, and be your own kind of beautiful.
