Guys & Dolls!
I’m so excited to share this quick technique for Heatless Waves! I want to share more hair tutorials with you, if you have requests or ideas please let me know what you’d like to see next!
a few extra tips/ what you’ll need!
First off you’ll need a head band. I prefer decorative ones because then the hair being rolled up is a hairstyle I’m happy to pal around town in, or even wear as an undo! If you want to have a more secure wrap with larger waves use a thicker headband, like the one. It has a rubberized inside so it stays in place and the larger braided size makes sure it doesn’t get too curly! Likewise if you’d like tighter curls, use smaller sections of hair and wrap is tighter around a thinner band.
When I don’t have hours to wait before my hair sets, after I wrap it, I give my hair a spritz with a setting or grooming spray, then a 90 second blast with the hair dryer. Let it cool for about 15-20 minutes and you’ll have gorgeous waves. These are typically bit looser and less curled, and I know this isn’t technically “heatless” this way, but the indirect heat from your dryer is way less damaging than a curling iron or flat iron.
If you have more time (like overnight) wrap the hair when it’s slightly damp; When hair sets from wet to dry is creates style memory and your curls will be tighter and last longer! Sometimes with this method I’ll find myself with a little frizz, so I take a water-soluble and shine enhancing pomade like Layrite SuperShine. Just a teeny bit rubbed on the palms and smoothed over the hair makes it glossy and beautiful!
